E-News Summary 8/4/21

What’s New, Upcoming or Changing?

Reeb and Covid-19 – With the Covid infection rate in Dane County at its highest since last summer, JRUUC is again at the highest level of caution for the safety of our members and friends: Level 4 on our strategic plan. We will be operating under the guidelines that were in effect for most of March, with all activities held either outdoors or online.

Minister’s Availability
Rev. Karen is back from her summer leave, and is holding virtual and in-person office hours while our building is closed.  Both are drop-in, and open to as many participants as show up at once.  Please reach out to Karen via email, phone, or text if you’d like to connect individually – she’s happy to set up a time to meet with you!  And, as always, please call or text her if you have a pastoral emergency.  Please note that Karen doesn’t check email on Mondays (her rest day) and Thursdays (her writing/study day) and will reply to your non-emergency messages the following day.
Virtual Office Hours Rev. Karen opens a zoom room on Tuesdays at 4:00-6:00 pm, and you’re invited to join her when you can for as long as you can.  See the weekly email for link or contact Rev. Karen.
Outdoor Office Hours  Rev. Karen would love to see you in person on Fridays at 2:00-4:00 pm!  She’ll set up a chair on the lawn just east of the Olbrich Gardens parking lot, between the Children’s Kitchen Garden and the shelter at 201 Garrison Street.  Come by if you’d like to chat!

Justice CALL TO ACTION The Justice Leadership Team encourages members to work for justice in our community and country. Here are actions you can take this week.

Our Annual Rummage Sale unfortunately has been postponed due to an increase in COVID and corresponding building and event restrictions. Please continue to hoard your donations though. When the time is right, we will accept all kinds of household items, toys, books, tools, sports stuff etc., except clothes. We will still need “Helping Hands” to set up and run the sale in two-hour shifts. Please contact Tom McClintock if you are interested in helping out when we are able to hold the sale.
