JOB DESCRIPTION – OFFICE ASSISTANT
Objectives of the Position
The Office Assistant is responsible for day-to-day clerical operations in the office for the James Reeb Unitarian Universalist Congregation (JRUUC).
Primary Responsibilities
- Maintain communications: check and reply to emails, answer phone and respond to messages, open/sort mail, forward information and requests to appropriate channels
- Prepare and distribute materials weekly, including e-news and worship slide show
- Manage Google Calendar for building use
- Manage building keys distribution
- Keep Breeze database member & friend information up-to-date
- Run background checks upon request
- Maintain office presence as scheduled
- Operate office equipment and maintain office supplies
- Maintain cleaning supplies
- Coordinate with congregational volunteers
- Meet weekly with supervisor
Accountability
The Office Assistant is supervised by the Minister. A background check is required.
Core Competencies / Qualifications
- Experience in office operations, including experience with Google Suite applications
- Ability to work well with a team in a Cloud-based environment
- Experience with Breeze database preferred, or willingness to learn
- Strong organizational skills and a self-directed worker
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail
Compensation
$14-16 per hour for 10-12 hours per week. The Office Assistant will be paid monthly, and will be required to submit time sheets.
