This Sunday is Madison’s Pride celebration, and we will be honoring what queerness teaches us about community in uncertain times. This is a time of many feelings – and we will be engaging in ritual, readings, and music which will encourage us to be our full selves in our spiritual home. The Community Immigration Law Center is the Share the Plate Recipient for August 17 and August 24. CILC strives to ensure dignity and access to justice for people, especially those facing deportation, by providing legal representation and consultations, as well as support and education regarding immigration issues for the community at large. They seek to assist low-income immigrants with their immigration-related issues by providing information, support, and referrals to immigration attorneys or accredited representatives. They also offer representation for detained non-citizens in removal proceedings. The representation covers all aspects of immigration court proceedings. Thank you to Kelly Kearns for nominating them.
