We often think of the start of a new year as a time for renewal or re-invention. This morning, we’ll explore using our values to help us determine how to clear out the old and make room for the new. This is our annual Fire Communion service, in which we seal our intentions in the ritual of the burning bowl. [Image by Karen Armina]

The Share the Plate recipient for January 4 and 11 will be Undue Medical Debt. They believe that medical debt is not just unfortunate – it’s unjust and uniquely American. Powered by donors, Undue Medical Debt has bought and erased billions of dollars in the medical debts of everyday people, freeing them from bills they can’t afford. They were nominated by Sarah Cook.
