An ancestor service

No matter our relationship with our blood family/ancestors, each of us carries their hopes and actions in some way.  This morning, as we begin a theme of “nurturing gratitude,” we’ll explore finding appreciation in our lineage, and what our descendants might appreciate about us as their ancestors.  And we’ll honor our ancestors – be they familial, cultural, or chosen – in ritual.   • The Share the Plate recipient for Sunday October 26th and Sunday Nov 2 is Porchlight’s Place to Call Home Fund. Porchlight strives to reduce homelessness in Dane County. JRUUC has a history of supporting Porchlight when we prepared breakfasts at the Men’s Shelter. The Porchlight Place to Call Home Fund is a fund to help shelter guests move into permanent housing by covering application fees, first month’s rent and/or security deposits. With shelter members at unprecedented levels, Porchlight is seeing real success in transitioning guests into housing. Porchlight Place to Call Home Fund was nominated by Peggy Haack.
