“We, the member congregations of the Unitarian Universalist Association, covenant to affirm and promote:  journeying toward spiritual wholeness by working to build a diverse multicultural Beloved Community by our actions that accountably dismantle racism and other oppressions in ourselves and our institutions.”

In May of 2023, the 8th Principle was adopted at our Annual Congregational Meeting. This is an explicit statement that we acknowledge the need for work to dismantle racism and other oppressions within ourselves and our congregations and commit to doing so.  We have created other statements of conscience in the past, on mass incarceration and Black Lives Matter, and will be weaving this work into our congregational life.
