Journaling Group (Drop-in)
May 16 @ 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Every other Monday 7-8pm – Journaling with Jean Skinner

This is an informal group that has a good time connecting with each other and looking inward. No experience necessary; just bring something to write on and something to write with.

This is a drop in group but the day we meet is subject to change, with some advance notice, so if you are new and planning to join, you might want to let Jean know so you can be notified of any changes (email address can be found in the weekly email). Changes will also be sent to the weekly newsletter.
Hope you can join us!

Octavia’s Parables Podcast Discussion Group – See email
May 22 @ 4:00 pm – 5:15 pm
Reflections on “Octavia’s Parables,” a podcast hosted by Octavia’s Brood co-editor and activist adrienne maree brown, and “Parable of the Sower Opera” creator Toshi Reagon – If you appreciated Rev. Karen’s November 22 reflection on change, you might be interested in a new group that will begin in January.  “Octavia’s Parables” is a deep dive into Octavia Butler’s books Parable of the Sower and Parable of the Talents.  Each episode runs about an hour, during which the cohosts offer a summary of the chapter, their analysis of the issues they find relevant to this time, some questions to guide our thinking about how to apply these to our lives and communities – and music.
This will be an open, drop-in group that will meet weekly for an hour.  Come to as many or as few as you can!  We’ll commit to listening to each episode before our meeting on it, and spend our time together discussing the reflection questions offered.  It would be helpful to read the books before our group begins – or to at least read each chapter before the episode on it.
We’ll meet on Sundays starting 1-10-2021 at 4:00.  Please check out the trailer here, and feel free to begin listening to see if this is for you!
