The first rehearsal of Sacred Breath Choir is on Thursday August 31 from 7-8:30pm. Sacred Breath welcomes folks of all voice types and musical backgrounds (including people with no experience whatsoever!) We meet weekly on Thursdays from 7-8:30pm and sing at 1-2 services a month. At rehearsals, choir members warm-up their voices and bodies, learn pieces for Sunday services, sing for the joy of it, and connect with fellow Reebers. Singing is nourishment for the mind, body, and spirit. Nourish yourself and your community by joining Sacred Breath Choir!

Beloved member and friend Brian Gehring died on February 28, 2024 after a long battle with cancer. His full obituary can be found here: https://www.gundersonfh.com/obituaries/Brian-J-Gehring?obId=30952452
Brian’s visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 10 a.m. until 12 noon on Saturday, March 23, 2024, followed by funeral services led by Rev. Bowie. Brian’s family knows how special JRUUC was to him and invites our community to attend.
A Sharing Circle will be held in Brian’s memory in the JRUUC sanctuary after the service Sunday April 7th. Come with your memories and your stories of Brian.
If you find yourself in need of additional support as you process this loss, email our Caring Tree Coordinators at care@jruuc.org. Rev. Bowie is available through the Caring Tree if you need a minister.
Please come sing and play folk music with us on Saturdays. The folk group will meet every Saturday at 2pm for about an hour and a half. If you want to join, please contact Mike Stimson to be added to the email list and receive information about meetings and songs.
No meeting 2/17/24
All are welcome. See our upcoming services page for more information, or sign up for our weekly email with this form. We support wearing masks at JRUUC events if you so choose. Services are also available at this Zoom Link.
Our Social Justice Youth Team started meeting in the fall of 2023. The group is getting energized about a project to provide essential personal hygiene packets to other youth and women. We would love to have more folks join us! Come out Sunday at 12:30 to connect with this fun group! Contact Kristi Sprague, if you have questions. Snacks provided!
