How do we take care of each other? One way is by participating in, or asking for help from, the JRUUC Caring Tree. The Caring Tree is the structure we use to co-create a mutual aid network of pastoral and parish care. We ask for help and we offer help, as part of building relationships and community. The Caring Tree is an amazing group of people, and we invite you to consider joining one or more of our teams so we can build a stronger network of support for those who request help and support. Visit our page on the JRUUC website for descriptions of the various care teams that make up the Caring Tree.
Once we get a request or identify a need we send an email out to the people who have signed up for that team. Those who are able to help respond to let the coordinators know what they can offer to support the request. Signing up for a team doesn’t obligate you to any specific commitment and many people are on more than one team. There aren’t an overwhelming number of requests and you can always choose how you want to participate in our beloved community based on your own circumstances and capacity. When there are more people involved, the Caring Tree is a stronger support network.
Life can be scary, awful and unfair. What a wonderful thing that we are part of a beloved community where we can take care of each other When we need it the most. If you would like to be part of the JRUUC Caring Tree, please fill out this survey. We will contact you to give you more information about the care teams you expressed interest in. If you have any questions, contact us at care@jruuc.org.
