JRUUC members and friends engaged in a great discussion on the Black Lives Matter movement following the worship service on Sun. Oct. 18. In the course of the discussion, people were interested in learning about upcoming events. Here are a few:

- "Racial Justice in Madison: Incarceration and Segregation in the 'Creative City'" A Symposium by UW Havens Center: Cedric Robinson, 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 6 at Elvehjem L160; Jamala Rogers, keynote speech, at 9 a.m. and full day of speakers til 5 p.m. Sat., Nov. 7, at the Pyle Center on Langdon St.
- "We the 350: Stories of Poverty, Racism and Incarceration," a narrative-based performance at the Overture Center. Performances at 8 p.m. Sat. Nov. 7 and 2 p.m. Sun. Nov. 8, at 201 State St., tickets at www.overturecenter.org. Suggested donation $5.
