Dear Friends,

The blessing I’m looking forward to this week is human contact.  I’m leaving tomorrow for General Assembly, traveling to Portland, Oregon via Amtrak.  If you were at worship last Sunday, you heard me talk about how I’ve learned to miss unplanned encounters and conversations during the pandemic; this trip is my deep dive back into the mass of humanity.  Two days on a train, followed by a week with first hundreds of colleagues and then thousands of UUs!  I appreciate being able to go, and am really glad I made the decision to attend in person.  I’ll be working while I’m away, but will only be checking email in the mornings and evenings – thanks in advance for your patience with slower response times.
