The UUA offers several ways for UUs to engage in the work of justice in our world. Each has opportunities for learning and action!
Side With Love is a public advocacy campaign that seeks to harness love’s power to stop oppression, with four intersectional justice priorities: Climate Justice, Decriminalization, Democracy, and Reproductive Justice & Trans Rights. Click here to learn more.
Side with Love is now organizing UUs through a weekly “Action Center Update,” which provides a brief analysis of critical issues in this political moment, shares immediate actions you can take, and provides helpful resources to deepen knowledge and practice of our collective work to side with love. This week’s update covers information, resources, and actions on these issues:
📢 The rise of authoritarian policies—executive orders banning trans individuals from military service, restricting gender-affirming care, and undermining reproductive rights
⚖️ Criminalization as a tool of oppression—from migrant detention and mass incarceration to laws targeting protest, poverty, and gender identity
🗳️ The erosion of democratic norms—the unconstitutional establishment of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), mass dismissals of oversight officials, and threats to rights.
💪 What we can do—mobilizing against injustice, taking direct action, and building power in our communities
