Calendar – Congregation Activities
Beginners Welcome! Check weekly email for zoom link – a brief reading, guided and silent meditation, and opportunity to talk about it. We are currently reading from Joan Halifax‘s contemplative card deck “In a Moment, In a Breath – 55 Meditations to Cultivate a Courageous Heart.”
Sacred Breath Choir welcomes folks of all voice types and musical backgrounds. We meet weekly on Thursdays from 7-8:30pm and sing at 1-2 worship services per month. Singing is nourishment for the mind, body, and spirit. Nourish yourself and your community by joining Sacred Breath Choir! Email Jennifer at music@jruuc.org or chat with them during coffee hour if you have any questions.

Join in the artistic fun and meditative state of Ukrainian Egg Decorating, aka Pysanky, with a donation to Reeb! Pysanky is the ancient art of layering wax and dyes to create beautiful designs. Attend the whole time, or for as much as you are able; people seem to prefer about 45 min to an hour per egg. All supplies available. Hosted by sisters Kris and Karol Niemann. Bring your friends and family! Suggested donation: $20-40+, 100% of which will go to JRUUC. No one will be turned away for inability to donate, but space will be limited to the Multipurpose Room.

All are welcome. See our upcoming services page for more information, or sign up for our weekly email with this form. We support wearing masks at JRUUC events if you so choose. Services are also available at this Zoom Link.
“Our Wild and Precious Lives” – A New Small Group Ministry starting Sunday 1/26
Would you like a space in which you can talk with others about some of the big issues facing us in our lives? Rev. Karen and Rev. Bowie will facilitate a monthly group together, titled after Mary Oliver’s famous poem “The Summer Day,” which asks “Doesn’t everything die at last, and too soon? Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?” During the first session, we’ll ask participants to share is it that’s left for you to do in this wild and precious life?
This will be a drop-in opportunity – come once, or as often as you like. The one-hour sessions will alternate between formats, with in-person sessions after worship on some Sundays, and online sessions via Zoom on some Tuesday evenings. Here’s the schedule:
- January 26 (Sunday) at 11:30 in person in the Reeb library
- February 25 (Tuesday) at 6:30-7:30 pm – Zoom
- March 30 (Sunday) at 11:30 in person in the Reeb library
- April 29 (Tuesday) at 6:30-7:30 pm – Zoom
- May 27 (Tuesday) at 6:30-7:30 pm – Zoom
- June 29 (Sunday) at 11:30 in person in the Reeb library
