Saturday In Person 9/18/21

Outdoor Work Day at JRUUC – Saturday September 18, 9-11
Let’s get out building and grounds cleaned up at a Many Hands Work Day. Bring your work gloves and help with cleaning up the gardens, picking up litter, pulling weeds in the parking lot, cutting brush or clearing off the roof. All ages welcome.
Come to an in-person JRUUC picnic! The Membership Team is inviting everyone to a picnic at noon, Saturday Sept. 18. Meet at the lower lawn of Burrows Park (just off of Sherman Ave, turn towards the lake by Banzo), between the parking lot and the lake). Bring your own food, drinks, chairs and masks. We especially encourage attendance by people who have joined us since COVID started. We would like to meet you in person! For anyone not able to come in person who wants to briefly join the group virtually, please contact Kelly Kearns. This picnic is in place of our usual annual campout at Lake Farm Park.
Sign Postcards for a Path to Citizenship for Undocumented Immigrants!  We will have a small table at this Saturday’s JRUUC Picnic starting at Noon at Burrows Park so you can sign your name to support the fight to get a legal path to citizenship for Dreamers, Temporary Protected Status (TPS) holders and essential immigrant workers in the immigration reform bill coming out of the Reconciliation bill in Congress, which may be voted on by the end of September!  Voces de la Frontera asked congregation members in the Dane Sanctuary Coalition to sign postcards to Sen. Tammy Baldwin and Congressman Mark Pocan, urging them to keep the path to citizenship language in the $3.5 trillion human infrastructure bill so it doesn’t get dropped in negotiations or amendments.  We need your support to flood our representatives with these postcards!
