Parker Palmer once wrote, “The human soul doesn’t want to be advised or fixed or saved. It simply wants to be witnessed — to be seen, heard and companioned exactly as it is.” To witness a human soul is to keep one’s own heart open to being moved, even when it’s hard. This morning, we’ll explore what we might gain by staying in the present moment regardless of how it feels.
