On this morning, as we approach the time the veil between the worlds of the living and the dead is said to be thinnest, we’ll honor our ancestors – be they familial, cultural, or chosen – in ritual. And it’s the fifth Sunday of the month, which means we’ll also join in activities for all ages in a “multigenerational fair” format. Please bring a memento to place on an ancestor altar.
We’ll have live music from our Sacred Breath Choir and our folk singing group today.
The Share-the-Plate for October 22 and 29 will be Milestone Democratic School in Madison. They are a not-for-profit, tuition-free public charter school designed for students who are disengaged from school. Staff are committed to anti-racism, justice, equity, and trauma-informed care. Students are engaged in their own learning design, everyone has a voice, and all voices are heard. Milestone Democratic School was nominated by Mary Witchita, who says the school saved the life of her grandson who is transgender.
