Imagining Ourselves Whole

The Unitarians and Universalists consolidated, and formed the Unitarian Universalist Association, 64 years ago this month.  Our founders imagined that these two faith traditions rooted in heresy might complement each other as a new whole was created – and since then, there are ways that we’ve broken and ways that we’ve healed.  This morning, we’ll learn about some of the controversies and conflicts in our history, and explore the hope that can arise from growth and reconciliation.

  • The Share the Plate for Sunday May 11 and Sunday May 18 is Wisconsin Books to Prisoners. Wisconsin Books to Prisoners (WBTP) is an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization whose mission is to foster a love of reading behind bars, encourage the pursuit of knowledge and self-empowerment, and to help break the cycle of recidivism. It. Wisconsin Books To Prisoners volunteers love to read and want to ensure the same freedom for those living behind bars. They believe that books are tools for learning and can open minds to new ideas and possibilities. Wisconsin Books to Prisoners was nominated by Jennifer Hedstrom.
